Crafter

Pregnant with Jacob, 8 years ago, it was the search for how to make my own baby announcements that led me to an American scrapbook site.

I can remember that first night as if it were yesterday!  I sat cross legged working on a scrapbook layout all night, and I mean ALL NIGHT!  Stuart came down to find me sitting in the same spot, glued to Alan & Barry on the Create & Craft TV channel, where he had left me 8 hours before!

Shortly after the crafting bug had bitten, I created a kit company, Scrapping Colours which provided monthly scrapbook kits based around colour and theme.  Growing from an initial 4 kits within the UK to an international supply of 100+, Scrapping Colours was a huge success.

Along with baby number 4 came a shift in crafting ideas which led to me branching out, sewing, wood work and trying out for design teams, both nationally and internationally.

Working with Bo Bunny, PK Glitz, Banana Frog and Crafters Companion to name just a few, I knew crafting wasnt just a hobby for me - it was and is a way of life!

Creating templates for handmade boxes, a cupcake window box that still gets thousands of hits being the favourite, led to my blog getting hits from all over the world and requests for new designs daily.

Another side of crafting that I love is renovating projects.  Taking something from old and ugly to new and pretty - dressers are a complete weakness of mine!  From dark stained wood to pale blue beauty...
Right now, the crochet bug has well and truly bitten!  We are all covered in pretty blankets and I have a list as long as my arm of projects that I would love to do....

See Author and Baker tabs for what are next in my crafting life - I am so excited and happy to be continually making things.....it may only be paper and glue but by Heavens its addictive!
